New ICU construction underway at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital
The Ministry of Health is constructing a multi-billion shilling Intensive Care Unit at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital. The 8.4 billion facility is expected to be completed by September 30th, with Excel Construction handling the works. According to Hospital Director Dr. Ibrahim Bwaga, the Intensive Care Unit will assist in managing critically ill patients who have previously been referred to Mulago and Kiruddu Hospitals, as well as patients needing dialysis and neurosurgery.
