South Sudan marks 13th Independence, calls for support to students in Uganda
The South Sudanese community living in Uganda commemorated their country’s 13th Independence anniversary with a call to offer more support to their students living and studying here. South Sudan gained independence in July 2011 as an outcome of a 2005 agreement that ended Africa’s longest-running civil war. South Sudan's Ambassador to Uganda, Margret Daniel, the Chief of Protocol at Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Charles Ssentongo, and the Speaker of South Sudan’s Parliament, Jemma Nunu Kumba, pledged to ensure better cordial relations between the two states.
