Who is Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech?
On 15th December 2020, President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Gen. Yoweri Museveni appointed Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech the Deputy Inspector General of Police, replacing fellow senior army officer, Maj. Gen. Sabiti Muzeyi who has been in the position for two-and-a-half years. But what do we know of the new deputy police chief? Maj. Gen. Lokech joined the then National Resistance Army (NRA), later renamed UPDF on 1st February 1987. One of his most recent prominent assignments was heading Ugandan troops in Somalia where he led the troops to significantly weaken the Somali based Al Shabaab terror group in 2011?
