Activists want new law to curb funding campaigns

A group of Civil Society Organisations is calling on the government to enact a comprehensive campaign finance law aimed at curbing the growing monetisation of politics in the country. They say the law should set clear limits on campaign spending, ban anonymous donations, and enforce tougher penalties against electoral bribery and illicit funding.
