Nam Blazers end City Oilers 10-year NBL dominance

The National Basketball League has a new champion as the Namuwongo Blazers ended the City Oilers’ 10-year reign by winning the playoff final series 4-2 in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Lugogo Indoor Arena last night. The Blazers secured a 68-55 victory in game six, completing an impressive comeback after being down 0-2 in the series. Guard Joel Lukoji, who averaged 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists, was named MVP for both the regular season and finals.

Former Oilers players Tony Drileba, Jimmy Enabu, James Okello, and Ivan Muhwezi also made significant contributions to the Blazers’ victory, defeating their former team.
