10-day garbage clean up exercise to cover all city divisions
Kampala City Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, has stated that the ongoing garbage problem in the city can only be resolved if the government provides funding to establish a permanent dumpsite or landfill. Speaking during a cleaning exercise, Lukwago noted that while Kampala Capital City Authority is currently using temporary dumping sites in Katikolo and Nkumba, the long distance to these locations has significantly impacted waste collection efforts.
