Bunyoro-Kitara bishop calls for action to child torture
The Anglican Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese Rt. Rev Jacob Ateirweho has condemned the increasing acts of child torture by housemaids and teachers in the Country. Bishop Ateirweho reveals that children’s rights have been so much violated by housemaids at home and teachers at school, an act he says is ungodly. The Bishop’s remarks come on the back of a housemaid in Kiira Municipality Wakiso District Clare Tumwekwase was convicted to 40 years, for torturing a baby. The Kibaale Woman MP Noeline Kisembo Basemera says the backed the court's decision and called for stricter enforcement of laws against child torture.
