Councillors visit to Kiteezi visit comes after the failure by KCCA CEC to produce report
Weeks after the Kiteezi Landfill collapse that claimed dozens of lives, a report on what transpired, how many people were affected, and who needs to be compensated will be drafted by a 10-member Kampala Capital City Authority Committee. Committee members today visited the decommissioned landfill, which collapsed on August 10, 2024, killing 35 people and injuring several others.
The visit by KCCA Lord Councillors follows a decision made in the council yesterday to visit the landfill and investigate the matter. Until today, the Ministry of Disaster is scrutinizing lists of people who were affected.
