Kawempe North MP-elect, Ssegirinya granted UGX 3m bail
Kawempe North MP elect Mohammed Segirinya has been granted bail after spending 25 days in Kitalya government prison. Buganda Road Court allowed Segirinya temporary release on the request of his lawyer Medard Lubega Sseggona who said the MP-elect has a pending election petition. He was ordered to pay three million shillings before he could leave prison and his two sureties signed a non-cash bond of 50 million shillings. He is charged with inciting violence and will report back to court on 12th May 2021.
