Lawyers march to Uganda Prisons, demand Besigye’s release
Attempts by lawyers to secure the release of individuals facing charges before military courts have failed.The lawyers directly engaged the Commissioner General of Prisons, Johnson Byabashaija, who stated that the prison service was awaiting guidance from the Attorney General. The lawyers argue that there is no valid warrant for the continued detention of those facing military court charges, especially after the Supreme Court annulled their trial.
