Museveni emphasizes wealth creation at 39th NRM Liberation Day
President Museveni used the 39th NRM Liberation Day celebrations in Mubende to emphasize his wealth creation gospel, saying the time had come for more Ugandans to be lifted out of poverty. After citing several examples of Ugandans who had benefited from various farming initiatives, he directed that beneficiaries of the Parish Development Model be spared bank charges. This followed concerns raised by Mubende residents that they had suffered deductions on the money they were mandated to receive. The event is held to commemorate the end of the five-year guerrilla war that brought the NRM to power in 1986.
