NRM lawmakers meet to discuss UPDF amendments
Members of Parliament under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) caucus met with the president today to discuss proposed amendments to the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Act. The amendments aim to reinstate the trial of civilians in the General Court Martial, which was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. The MPs emphasized their intent to implement the court's recommendations and assured the public that the amendments will align with national security interests and the constitution.
