Ssegirinya, Ssewanyana speak out after release
Members of Parliament Muhammad Ssegirinya and Allan Ssewanyana have said their release from prison was a result of multiple legal and court procedures and no deal was reached between the government and top National Unity Platform party leaders as alleged. The MPs, arrested on charges of murder and terrorism-related to a spate of killings in the Greater Masaka sub-region, were released from jail in February, after spending nearly one and a half years on remand. They spoke to journalists in Kampala at their first press conference since their release.
