Hepatitis B birth dose rolled out in Northern Uganda

The Ministry of Health has introduced the hepatitis B birth dose into routine immunisation, covering children at birth and eliminating transmission from mother to child. The Health Minister, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, says hepatitis is a significant health problem in northern Uganda, which calls for greater efforts to reduce the prevalence and associated burdens. The launch took place in Acholibur Town Council, Pader District.
