Museveni defends higher pay for science teachers

Uganda, on Thursday, celebrated 63 years of independence with a stern call from President Museveni against wastage of finances in what he called a “mistaken approach of scattering resources.” He said the leak is mostly in administrative costs, such as the payment of teachers. The remarks come amid a recent month-long strike by arts teachers in government-aided schools over salary enhancement. Juliet Nalwoga reports.
