Inside the voter register update exercise | MorningAtNTV
The Electoral Commission (EC) has commenced a General Update of the National Voters' Register at update stations, as publicized for each parish throughout Uganda, from Monday, 20th January 2025, to Monday, 10th February 2025. This is in compliance with Article 61 (1)(e) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and Section 20 of the Electoral Commission Act (Cap 176). The update is being conducted in preparation for the 2025-2026 General Elections. However, the update has had a slow start on the first day, raising several concerns. We speak to Arthur Bainomugisha, political analyst; Hassan Kirumira, MP for Katikamu South; and Timothy Chemonges, political analyst.
