Tin miners count losses as government bans exportation of semi-processed minerals
Artisanal and small-scale miners in the Isingiro district are threatening to lay down their tools following the government's ban on the exportation of semi-processed minerals. They say they have not exported anything for the last six months and business is at near collapse, with nearly 70% of mineral stocks ready for export are still lying idle. According to African Panther Resources (U) Limited which deals in metal and mining, huge losses prevail as miners pile up 20 tonnes of tin. Rachel Nabisubi reports.
