Storms leave Namisindwa residents homeless
A severe storm with strong winds hit Lwakhakha town council in Namisindwa district yesterday, leaving significant destruction in its wake. Over 100 houses, churches, mosques, and crops like matooke were damaged across six wards—Bukibayi, Butemulani, Lwakhakha, Bukhoma, Bugemo, and Buwuma. Many people are now homeless as the storm blew off iron sheets from houses, damaging both the homes and their contents. This morning, residents were seen salvaging materials and trying to rebuild.
