Health Ministry delays deployment of over 1,000 pre-nurse interns
The Ministry of Health remains in a pickle over the fate of over 1,000 Pre-Medical Intern Doctors, who are yet to be deployed to health facilities. Similarly, over 800 Nurse Interns are frustrated that the ministry has failed to deploy them in health facilities for their mandatory internship, despite graduating in 2021 and 2022. This afternoon, we sought the view of Annet Birungi of the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union on the fate of these Nurse Interns.
