Maj Gen Otto assures heightened security for festive season
The Commander of Operation Shujaa, Maj Gen Richard Otto, has assured Ugandans and Congolese of heightened security during the festive season to ensure they can celebrate Christmas and the New Year safely. Speaking during a tour of Operation Shujaa's area of operations, Maj Gen Otto reaffirmed the commitment of the joint Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) to safeguard against the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) insurgents. Maj Gen Otto explained that the insurgents had been significantly weakened after three years of joint military efforts.
