IGG probe blocks recruitment of cancer experts
The Uganda Cancer Institute is grappling with the problem of inadequate staff after their recruitment plan was halted by the Inspectorate of Government. Speaking to NTV, Dr Jackson Orem said that the investigation by IGG started six months ago after some staff complained about the new institute structure. As a result, the Gulu Cancer Center, which needs 100 staff is not operational. As Sudhir Byaruhanga reports, the Gulu cancer institute is meant to bring hope to the patients who can’t afford transport to Kampala to get treatment at the institute.
