Agriculture Ministry distributes 400 motorcycles for disease control
The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries has distributed 400 motorcycles to veterinary officers across various districts to support livestock and crop disease control in the cattle corridor. These motorcycles will aid in the surveillance and reporting of livestock disease outbreaks in remote areas of southern, southwestern, northern, and eastern Uganda. Acholi sub-region has been allocated 200 motorbikes due to its higher disease prevalence compared to other regions, according to Minister for Agriculture Frank Tumwebaze.
