Government explains compensation for health workers
The labour docket at the ministry responsible for computing the compensation for employees who are injured in the course of employment, says it is yet to be officially notified of the deaths of health workers. The assistant commissioner for industrial relations, Apollo Onzima says the notification is a mandatory requirement under the law to kickstart the process of compensation. Ministry of health data shows that 74 health practitioners have succumbed to Covid-19.
