The Health Minister, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, has implored health workers and local leaders in the Tooro sub-region to desist from commercializing the Ebola outbreak into a money-making scheme, but rather use the available resources to manage the crisis, citing the government's limited resources and no special budget for the Ebola outbreak. The Health Minister made the remarks while meeting different stakeholders in Fort Portal to devise various ways of preventing the spread of Ebola. According to the Minister, one case was confirmed in the Tooro sub-region and is being managed at Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital.
