KCCA needs 200 acres of land to set up new landfill
The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) needs 200 acres of land to establish a landfill, as it seeks investors to help turn waste into useful products. This comes as KCCA struggles to manage the city's waste following the decommissioning of the Kiteezi Landfill, which collapsed and resulted in over 35 deaths. KCCA officials revealed that only 11 victims remain accounted for, despite allegations that more people are still missing. These developments were discussed when KCCA officials appeared before the Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities, and State Enterprises.
