Kiryandongo district faces child malnutrition crisis
Kiryandongo District is grappling with a malnutrition and stunted growth crisis among children, despite the availability of food in the district. This was revealed by the District Chairperson, Edith Aliguma, during the launch of the Agri-food System Digital Platform created by Kiryandongo District Local Government in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization. It was revealed that 34.7% of the children who visit health centers in the district are suffering from acute malnutrition, which affects their growth and brain development.
