Uganda professional boxing commission to amend constitution in line with new sports law
The Uganda Professional Boxing Commission has passed a resolution to amend its constitution to align with the new sports law, which stipulates that amateur and professional boxing should operate under one roof. Eddie Bazira, who stepped in as interim chairperson after President Salim Uhuru stepped down earlier this year, revealed that they are still in communication with the national sports governing body, the National Council of Sports, on how to collaborate with the amateur sports body. Stakeholders were also urged to renew their licenses as they look forward to electing leaders to fill the vacant positions on the commission.
