UK funds 15 billion shillings for climate resilience
Nearly 15 billion shillings, or 3.2 million pounds, will be availed to 60,000 farmers in parts of the Rwenzori and Mount Elgon regions to help them adapt to the effects of climate change. Funded by the UK government, the three-year project, running from 2024 to 2027, aims to incentivize smallholder farmers and private sector businesses to invest in land restoration initiatives covering about 40,000 hectares across 18 districts.
