The European Union urges government on fundamental human rights
The European Union has urged the government to create an enabling environment for media freedom to prevail in the country. While leading the discussion on media freedom and expression in Uganda at the Media Challenge Initiative, Gilam Chartrain, the deputy Ambassador emphasized that freedom of expression is a critical human right. He further notes that the preservation of free and independent media is essential for building a resilient and healthy democracy.
