MPs urge Ugandans to demand release of ailing Dr. Kizza Besigye
A section of legislators is urging all Ugandans to voice their displeasure with the continuing detention of former Presidential Contender Dr. Kizza Besigye, despite his declining health. They say Dr. Besigye, who is currently in Luzira prison and very ill, is facing rights violations that could happen to any Ugandan. They are calling on the government to release Dr. Besigye so he can receive proper medical treatment, and if he still has a case to answer, it should be handled in civil courts. NTV spoke to a section of Members of Parliament about the developments.
